Friends2Support - Call 1051 for Blood Donors Info

This is another website I came to know about via e-mail called Friends2Support founded by a small group of software engineers(USA and India).

These small group of people are thinking big. They have a zeal to help the society. In the process they have created this beautiful website. The 'About' page says that they started this initiative to improve schools in and around their locality but now the focus seems to be more on Blood Donations. Here one can request for blood and a list showing the day's blood requests is seen on the home page. One can see who requires what blood with full contact details. One can also register as a blood donor or even a volunteer. There is also a search function to find blood donors based on blood group, state, district and city.

The website is simple and well designed. One can see the founders, supporters and friends details on the site.

The Govt. of AP has alloted them a toll free number 1051 (within AP) being satisfied with their services. One can also call their other Helpline 0863-2351725 .

TANKER - Free Dialysis and Fistula Surgeries

TANKER - The Tamilnad Kidney Research Foundation is involved in the treatment of Kidney patients. They have three dialysis units in chennai. The best thing is that they perform One Free Dialysis per day at each of their centers for poor and needy patients. They also perform free and subsidized Dialysis and Fistula operations. Upto January 2007 they have performed 6642 free dialysis and 30654 subsidized dialysis for 396 patients. So far the Foundation has facilitated 25 free fistula surgeries.

Tamil Actor Surya is their Goodwill Ambassador.

Many organisations and corporates have generously donated to a noble cause.
